On the morning of June 21, Liverpool officially announced a 5-year contract with midfielder Florian Wirtz. According to Sky Sports,  Ok9 to own the 22-year-old German star, Liverpool spent 116 million pounds, thereby making this midfielder the most expensive player in the history of the Premier League.

Accordingly, Florian Wirtz's contract surpasses the record of 115 million pounds of Moises Caicedo when he joined Chelsea in 2023.

According to Sky Sports, in a 5-year contract with Liverpool, the German midfielder received a salary of 245,000 pounds/week at Anfield, equivalent to 12.7 million pounds per year - nearly 3 times higher than his previous income at Leverkusen.

Of this total salary, £10.2 million is guaranteed by Liverpool for the 22-year-old rookie, while the remaining £2.5 million depends on individual and team performance terms.

The above figure helps Florian Wirtz become the third highest paid player at Liverpool, surpassing a series of stars such as Andy Robertson, Alexis Mac Allister, Alisson Becker, Ryan Gravenberch, Federico Chiesa, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez.

The German midfielder's salary is only behind striker Mohamed Salah and captain Virgil van Dijk. The Egyptian striker is currently earning £400,000 a week (equivalent to £20.8 million a year), while the Dutch midfielder just renewed his contract in April with a similar income.
